Staying Strong for Detroit’s Dogs
Recently, Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) had to make the incredibly difficult decision to pause all external events involving dogs and any new fostering activities. This sudden halt is due to a lapse in insurance coverage following our inclusion in a lawsuit despite FoDCC having no role in the dog’s care, custody, or placement.
This development has been deeply frustrating and heartbreaking, especially as we enter a season when adoptions, Dogventures, adoption events, and community engagement typically thrive. But we want our supporters to know: we are not standing still.
Upcoming Events Cancelled Due to Insurance Issue
The Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) organization is facing a critical issue and we wanted to let our supporters and community members know the present situation.

Paws & Ponder: Hearts are for loving, not worms

Paws & Ponder: What does “fixing” fix?
My humans keep whispering about this thing called "spaying" or "neutering." Now, I'm not exactly sure what that entails, but it sounds like they're planning some sort of grand adventure without me. Should I be worried? Will I miss out on all the fun if I go through with it?
